Introduction/Background. In 2020 when the world shut down, I went into my prayer closet, asking God, what is going on? Or, maybe I said to Him, something along the lines of, "Oh God, I don't know what's going on, and why the whole world just shut down; and, I certainly don't know what to do! I know one thing, maybe I will repent for any known sin that I have in my life." And I began to speak to the Lord about I'm sorry for my this, and I'm sorry for my that. Lord, I don't know what complacency means, so let's go look it up. Oh my gosh, it means THAT?! I had no idea, Lord I'm sorry for my complacency! I relied heavily on God's promise from 1 John 1:9 that states God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins AND to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness. And, thus, began an intentional season for me of sharing with the Lord where I was falling short, and seeking Him in new ways. Well, new ways for me was through the social media; I had been reading on my own in Proverbs daily (at the time).
Praise the Lord, hallelujah He gave me some victory over areas of sin that I had struggled with before! I saw growth in my life as I co-operated with God on my sin issues, in my heart, and He gave me some victory. (I will say I did slip up once or twice each year in that area, but I got back up again in faith and continued on with God's help.)
Fast forward to 2023, a new problem-situation developed. I was not giving in to THAT specific sin anymore, but I felt harassed by the enemy nonetheless. With that what I am terming as spiritual harassment, I went to the Lord in the same way as before. Lord, I am sorry for all my sin, known and unknown; please forgive me, please cleanse me AT THE ROOT LEVEL, for the cause of my sin. Lord, would You please show me what is the ROOT CAUSE of this sin (or problem-situation) that I am experiencing, and would You please cleanse me from it. I want to live a HOLY and RIGHTEOUS life before You, in Your eyes.
What Happened Next? So, I got an impression in my heart and mind speaking something to the effect of, "there's a void (an empty void) in your heart that only God can fill". And, I thought, great perhaps that's my answer!
However, I also wanted to test that impression and began to wonder, well, where in the Bible does it say that I have an empty void in my heart that only God (Christ) can fill? And, thus began my new personal Bible study for THIS BLOG POST.
What Process Did I Use? Pulling up the bible hub website, although I also do have a personal CD ROM to use for if-and-when the internet/web were to shut down, I did a search of the word "void". Upon searching for the word void, 106 scriptures to review came up with that word void in it.
Then it crossed my mind, what about the word "fill"? And, I proceeded to look up verses on "fill" and 1037 scriptures have reference to the word fill. I wrote down a large handful of the scriptural locations, and read-skimmed browsed through them. And, then I stopped and became side-tracked or distracted with something else.
Question for You, question for me. So, where does the Bible really say that there's a God-void in our hearts that only God can fill? (I do not believe at this moment that it says that exactly in the Bible). But, I've heard this before. I've believed this before.
Anyways, this may be one of my topics for further study. I want to know, what does God say about voids in our hearts, and being filled with Him? I am also looking for the CONCRETE evidence from His Word (the Holy Bible) on said topic.
Conclusion. Thanks for reading my blog post here. I sincerely hope that you too, are seeking the Lord, pursuing Him, letting Him love on you, letting Him lead your life, and showing you more of who He is!! Today I know the Lord as "My Redeemer Friend" is how I sometimes refer to Him by. Take care and be well brothers and sisters, and/or anyone else out there reading the words of my blog post somehow. Know that Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Emmanuel, Messiah, Jehovah Jireh, loves you and He cares for you VERY MUCH!! SHALOM and AGAPE.
